Newly adopted kittens should visit Kitten to Cat Hospital for a complete physical examination before they are introduced to other animals and humans in the household. We will screen your new kitten for fleas, intestinal parasites, FeLV, FIV (contagious viruses) and other health problems.
Juvenile cats have immature immune systems, making them susceptible to infectious diseases. Vaccines are the most effective preventive measure you can take for the health of your kitten. The most important vaccines include:
- Feline Panleukopenia
- Feline Rhinotracheitis (Herpes Virus)
- Feline Calicivirus
- Feline Leukemia
- Rabies
Kittens receive a series of vaccinations in order to be protected; an incomplete series may leave your kitten vulnerable to infection. We will also discuss neuter and spay for your new kitten. We typically recommend having your kitten neutered around 5-6 months of age.
